古坑民宿「田心12號」因為原本只是農村民宅，衛浴只有一套，不過由於應用了樓梯間下方的空間，在那個年代來講，已經算是很大的衛浴間。我們原來的整修計畫，除了把整套老舊的衛浴淘汰之外，也想把經歷地震而稍有裂痕的地板磁磚敲掉重鋪；不過由於經費實在有限，只能把錢花在刀口上，便拜託從事室內設計的朋友，幫我們以工廠價買到好看大方經濟實惠的單品 (組合起來還不錯吧)。至於地板磁磚，只好先放棄，先自行用塑鋼土和批土把較大的破洞補起來。
還有還有，我們最愛廢物利用，舊浴室拆下來的毛巾架，我們分別改裝在廚房窗戶掛調理工具，以及後陽台收納清潔工具喔。樓梯間則是採用了「媽媽牌」生活智慧王的聰明點子，在牆上釘根木條當作支撐，架上竹竿後，便成了一個室內曬衣場，這樣就算是下雨天，也能洗衣晾衣。(媽媽果然好厲害呀！)
Since Sweet House No.12, the finest B&B in Gukeng, Yunlin, is an old-style farm house, we only have one bathroom for whole family use. But we fully used the space of staircase; it was a quite large bathroom in that time. In our renovation plan, we wanted to change all the facilities including the floor tiles. But there was priority for budget, we asked favor from a friend of mine who was an interior designer, she helped me to get wholesaler price for pieces we need. It's not so bad putting them together, right?
And again, we love recycling! For those old towel hangers we took off from bathroom, we installed them each in kitchen and back yard. The one in kitchen now is a good pole for hanging cooking tools, and the one in back yard is a great storage pole for cleaning tools. As to the staircase, I really have to say I admire mom's intelligence so much! This idea was from her past experience when living in a small apartment, she asked me to install a wood stick to the wall with nails on it, put up a pole, and it's an indoor clothes drying area! So that we don't have to worry about raining days! Mom is always super mom!
